Cara Trancada is an erotic artist, designer and tattoo artist from Lisbon, Portugal. She founded the project in 2016 as a personal creative venture and has run it independently ever since, handling everything herself, from the artwork and tattooing to the shop and merchandise. Her work explores erotic imagination, relationships, intimacy, sexuality and vulnerability, filtered through humor, irony and color, provocative, but never cold. She's shown her work in solo exhibitions in Lisbon (2017) and Almada (2018), taken part in collective shows and artist residencies including at Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira, and collaborated on projects ranging from beverage branding to sex-positive merchandise. At the core of it all is the same idea: talking about sex and bodies with honesty, humor and color, instead of shame.
