Contra is a Portuguese visual artist whose work moves between graffiti and abstract art. Working mainly through an analog process, he builds visual compositions from fragments, lettering, color and form, constantly searching for new approaches as his practice evolves. He is a member and co-founder of the RUA collective and frequently collaborates with fellow artist Frederico Draw, bringing abstraction and typography into dialogue with figurative imagery. Contra is also one of the three members of Low Class Club, extending his practice beyond his solo work into a wider creative community.
