Ele Zissou is the artistic name of Elena González, a Spanish illustrator, character designer and muralist from Salamanca, now based in Barcelona. Her practice grew from a love of drawing, animation and character design, developing into a colourful universe filled with funny, magical and distinctive characters that tell stories. Inspired by nature, childhood memories and animated films, she works with a limited palette of vivid flat colours and experiments across digital illustration, murals, ceramics and other media. Her large-scale murals allow her illustration work to leave the screen and become part of the spaces and communities around them.
