Francisco Fonseca is a freelance illustrator from Porto whose work is deeply connected to the city and the landscapes that surround it. His illustrations are known for a rich palette and a poetic, atmospheric quality, often depicting Porto’s streets, architecture and the Douro with a strong sense of place. He has also explored portraiture and brings the same attention to observation and detail to editorial illustration, where his images are used to give stories a distinct visual identity. Francisco holds a master’s degree in Drawing and Printmaking from the Fine Arts University of Porto and continues to work across illustration and independent artistic projects.
