Mariana Margarida Malhão was born in 1994 and works between Porto and Coimbra, Portugal. She holds a BA in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Oporto and completed an internship with the collective Oficina Arara. She now works as a freelancer alongside personal projects exploring illustration, ceramics and independent publications. In 2018 she published her first illustrated album, "Uma Rosa na Tromba de um Elefante," a poetry book written by António José Forte, through the publisher Orfeu Negro; it's still available to buy here. She's also co-organizer of Sábado-Feira and co-founder of the gallery Senhora Presidenta, both in Porto.
